Acupuncture is one of the oldest healing methods in the world.
It is a healing art and medical science that focuses on the interaction of body, mind and spirit to help restore the client's sense of balance and wellness.

Through the insertion of fine, sterile needles, the acupuncturist stimulates anatomical points on the client's body. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the body is seen as a delicate balance between the interdependent yet opposing forces of yin and yang. Health is achieved by maintaining a balanced state in the body and mind. Disease results from an internal imbalance of yin and yang energies. This imbalance leads to a blockage in the flow of Qi, or vital energy, along pathways in the body known as meridians. Rectifying a disturbance in the flow of Qi allows the body to eliminate most symptoms. Acupuncture's aim is to remove blockages in the flow of Qi in order to restore and maintain health.

From a Western medical perspective, the insertion of acupuncture needles stimulates the nervous system and has a variety of therapeutic effects on the mind and body. Acupuncture increases blood circulation, elevates white blood cell counts to boost immunity, reduces the inflammatory response, stimulates hormones and neurotransmitters, and releases endorphins causing pain relief and deep relaxation.

A more balanced and functional Qi circulation, along with proper diet, exercise, and other habits, will allow you to more effectively maintain overall health, both physical and mental.
